Good. Going through that is bullshit. Can accidentally sneeze and subscribe but have to crawl through broken glass and flames to unsubscribe.

    2. TBF I recently quit PF, and it was as simple as popping in. That being said, it should have been as simple as a mouse click. Go get ’em, FTC!

I almost burned down every Gold’s Gym after what they put me through when I moved cross country. Predatory bullshit.

I have a Planet Fitness membership. Are they supposed to be hard to get out of? I don’t want to get out of it because apparently I get access to any Planet Fitness even if I’m overseas in Europe. At least that’s what the guy told me when I signed up. I haven’t been to Europe so this could all be a lie 😐

    5. I really want this to go through

But I know some Trump appointed judge is gonna block this the same way they’re trying to block Biden’s plan to remove broad non compete agreements

    6. I worked at a bank for 5 years. Don’t EVER give a gym your account number. They will keep charging you and use different amounts to get around stop payments

Lmao. What?! PF ain’t hard to cancel. At all. For real I went to the desk and they said write a letter to us cancelling or do XYZ. I wrote the letter and it cancelled. I’m all for this new rule but PF ain’t the one lol.

    8. This is a big issue in ecommerce. The past rule has been, if you signed up in person, they don’t need this click to cancel. But if you signed up online, it needs to be click to cancel.

Is this a new application? If so, thank the FTC

    9. I thought I quit amazon prime twice because I hit a confirm button, then it said my account would stop after the month was up, and I didn’t see that I had to scroll all the way down and hit confirm again.

    10. I was so afraid of canceling my Planet Fitness membership because of all this chatter, but it turned out to be really easy. I went in, said I want to cancel, they said sure and got me to sign a form and voila, no more membership. Took less than 10 minutes.

If you get a new debit/credit card, there is a system that automatically updates “conveniently for the customer to continue using the product without ending services”.
      lol found it-
      Card account updater (CAU)
A service offered by credit card companies and payment gateways that automatically updates card information when a customer’s card expires or is replaced. This helps businesses avoid payment disruptions and is useful for those that offer recurring payments or subscriptions.

    12. FTC! FTC! FTC! Shout to them they’ve been doing some decent work lately, I’m sure they’re screwing us over behind the scenes but this is nice so I’ll give them their props lol

    13. This was the first place I mentioned to my husband. Like…I’ve been waiting for the class action suit

What’s the drama with Planet Fitness? I canceled a few years back and it was a simple enough process. I began a new subscription with them just last month. Did something change? Did I get myself into some shit?

I feel like I’m the only mf who had no issues cancelling PF. I just went on the app, account and then hit cancel lol.

    16. I lost like $200 this way from a streaming service. Turns out I had two accounts. Too late to contact my bank and apparently they don’t offer refunds for subscriptions. Sly tactics
