Most people looked 30+ trying to look like a teenager.

Ahhh, the 80’s. When every high school kid looked to be in their 30’s, and everyone else was on cocaine. What a decade.

I remember dances in 5 and 6 grade and kids would throw down cardboard and breakdance. Not well, since we were mainly white, middle class be suburban kids, but in our parachute pants and high tops we felt so street and cool.

its not a crazy vibe, its called being healthy people. they weren’t drugged and poisoned into being mindless zombies like todays teenagers.

I can confirm. I graduated in 86. Everyone was white and they had A-ha on a loop on the school PA.

If ya’ll want to sit here and comment how bad today is, then why is no one actually taking it seriously? What can we do now to have the free-spirited happiness/etc. these people display in this video? IMO, it’s the medication you (probably) don’t need to be on, your addiction to your phone, and the constant comparison fuck-around you go through thinking you need to act like these people on social media.

I don’t think these days will ever come back, even for the future generations. Truly makes me sad to watch. You don’t know your in the good old days until it’s too late.

There’s a dedicated youtube channel that just have vidos uploaded from Estancia High School, Costa Mesa in this time.
Man, it’s such an interesting time capsule watching these 30 year old teenagers have fun.
What’s hilarious is that this group of videos also has them gathered at a pizza joint clearly drinking beer. They looked old enough back then either not to get carded, or the waitress was a friend and “checked” their ID’s.

I loved how fashion wise, you either dressed like someone from MTV, or a 40 year old. Those were the two choices.
