    1. Same can sometimes occur with wrapped Camembert and other cheeses, I always look for a wide boi.

I don’t understand how getting extra cake would warrant taking the time to post this but I guess you have the time

    3. That’s just what happens when you cook things, they change size. Just like how a 12oz steak doesn’t weight 12oz after cooking.*

      *This is a joke

I used to work at a Safeway bakery. They don’t weigh pretty much any individual item. They just print the stickers for the items they have cut up or prepared, and put them on all of the items they have. The weight is just an arbitrary nicer that’s in the sticker printing system already.

There is a 4 piece bake at home bread in my shop that 2 time out of 10 has an extra 1 piece in it, but never saw less. That’s a very pleasant fail

    6. On the one hand, I want to mention tare weight – the concept of discounting the weight of the container from an object sold to charge strictly for the contents and not the container. Some tare weights are a little overzealous … but…

The price is 5.99 on the button. That isn’t going to happen for but a very, very few number of cakes. So this is pretty clearly a case of “print out a bunch of labels and slap on everything.”

Either way – fuck that cake looks good right now.

    7. Don’t insult it, it’s trying its best to lose the weight, it’s just a lot harder when you’re older.
