In 2011 or something the discovery channel had a special about mermaids that was shot like a documentary “uncovering the truth” or whatever, I had a roommate that was absolutely sure mermaids were real after watching it. Really is a shame that these channels pretend they have anything to do with science or history because it really can confuse gullible people who lack basic media literacy skills like my old roommate Kyle or this congressperson.
