A friend of mine has a younger friend who is like… 22, white, and chronically online. Like, I’m white and from the South and half the time he tries to use phrases my grandmother did but fucks em up. I said I was “fixin’ to do” something and he tried to bind over his use of “finna”. This boy is from New Hampshire.
He once got heated about something and started spouting all sort of mixed metaphor and phrases, none of which meant anything together or in context. When asked what he meant, he said, “Oh, this is how I actually talk,” as if any of the language he just butchered was natural to him.
