Literally only for aesthetic purposes

    1. No, it’s not just for asthetic purposes. It also remains cleaner & less prone to infections.

    2. I’m glad my parents did it. I doubt most women care either way, but I’ve heard multiple times in my life women openly talk about disliking them uncircumcised.

      Edit: I live in America.

    3. Me and my son both had to have it done retrospectively for medical reasons. That was great. It’s definitely more fun when you understand exactly what’s happening.

It’s like the electoral college. It made sense at the time the practice started, but a few decades/centuries later, it’s no longer necessary at all.

    5. According to the CDC, circumcision reduces the chance of contracting HIV for penile/vaginal sex by 60%.

    6. Yeah that isn’t really acceptable in most places, well in western countries at least. Here in Germany it’s basically only for religious reasons (and that isn’t a large group of people; still stupid though) or medical reasons. There really is no point in mutilating your child’s genitalia if there is no medical issue, it’s pretty simple to clean yourself. Its actually incredibly disturbing how accepting the US is of male genitalia mutilation since female genitalia mutilation is very much commonly seen as evil and rightly so. Those are some huge double standards only because one has been openly practiced for millennia while the other has been (and often still is) avoided talking about until the 00s.

“Let’s mutilate this newborn’s genitals for him because it’s our choice, but if he grows up and identifies as Trans, well we’re going to tell him he’s insane for wanting to mutilate his genitals.”

    8. I am uncircumcised and I have no issues at all. Never had an infection or trouble being or trouble with sex. If it truly was necessary natural selection would have made men without foreskins. It’s just so ingrained into our culture they believe it’s necessary when it isn’t

Best part in the USA if you say no I don’t want my sons cut. They send a doc anyways and charge you 1200 dollars. To not do the procedure. Called it a consultation and I’m like i didnt ask you to look at my sons penis dint even mention needing it done.

My pediatrician said that the rate of adult circumcision for medical reasons in the US is about equal to the rate in Europe. Basically saying that circumcising an infant as a preventative doesn’t work, statistically.
