Just a note, but combat aircraft’s anti-missile capabilities amount to “firing chaff and flares while trying to dodge”
As far as I know there exists no capability to intercept a missile once it’s in flight that can be deployed from a fighter jet. Assigning trump a fighter jet escort would do nothing because in the event a missile is fired at his passenger jet (a literally un-misssable and un-disguisable slow as hell thermal and radar signature that cannot manuever) all the escorts could do is save themselves.
Which leads me to believe this isn’t paranoia. It’s a childish ego trip to make him feel more important, look more official, and flex to his support base.
