I was planning to vote on Election Day itself before my swing shift starts. But as time goes on and things get more and more explicit in their calls to violence, as a State Police officer in a Trump area of a swing state, I’m going to have to wait in my living room in full kit on standby to respond to violence at some polling place before my shift starts, and then I’ll be doing the same from the squad room for the rest of the night. I honestly don’t see how things don’t pop off somewhere.
