What a moron. The Pepsi folks were probably laughing as they picked up the phone to make the call.

    2. That was dumb. Though they are competitors, they each have their own unique flavor. The market doesn’t want Pepsi to taste like Coca Cola.

    3. PepsiCo and The Coca-Cola Company are not direct competitor since the 90s. Beverages are a small part of PepsiCo business.

Haven’t they been in competition for decades? Very hard to believe they haven’t figured out the competitions formula

    5. Coca-cola’s secret formula is mostly just marketing. Coca-cola could hand deliver it to Pepsi and they wouldn’t be able to do anything with it. People who drink coca-cola don’t want someone else’s version of it.

They need each other to survive. The biggest gimmick is the sides people take, which drives sales

    7. Legally, PepsiCo wouldn’t be able to do anything with the information anyway as it would be protected by IP legislation.

    8. like what was she thinking? she thought Pepsi would uses Coca Cola’s formula to make Pepsi taste like Coke? Really?

I have found my competitor’s proprietary information on the internet before, and contacted them about it so they could take it down.

    10. These two already control most if not all the soda market, they don’t actually compete very much anymore.

No way they would take the bait on this legal nightmare. Wouldn’t be worth it. Simply talking to her could been seen as trying to get trade secrets.

    12. LOL what, she thought she was gonna stroll into an empty parking lot at night with a trench coat, hat and briefcase?

    13. This is a well-known juridic/economic case. Pepsi would not want it, because people that prefer to drink Pepsi do like its taste. If Pepsi patented the formula, it would prevent Coca-Cola from using that exact proccess for a while. But in the future, it would cause the market to stagnate in a lower price and in similar flavoured cola sodas. So, sticking to its own formula, Pepsi could charge a bigger price, despite the competition with Coca-Cola.
