Wouldn’t the fact that you cannot get a standard insurance there, be the first major hint to not buy property there?

First mistake you bough it in Florida. Second mistake you going to be hit with hurricane every year and need that. Sorry

    2. Why would anybody in their right mind move to Florida?

You’ve got Alligators everywhere, Hurricanes every year, and of course, Florida Man.

Sucks to be that guy, but he’s getting what he paid for.

If y’all had voted for Gore, this might not be happening. Don’t make the same mistake in November.

    4. The US could turn Florida into a giant prison. The Disney theme parks could be the asylums.

    5. So where I live the bank would force you to have flood insurance, did this guy pay over half a million cash for his house and not have floor insurance? If so no sympathy

    6. Americans… you should seriously consider leaving your country. The grass is really greener on the other side of the Atlantic…

Please tell me that’s a MAGA and the reason they didn’t get insurance is because they bought 20 pairs of Trump sneakers and 15 Trump Bibles instead.

I was discussing this with my wife last night, moving and living in Florida you must accept at some point you will suffer the effects of a hurricane and flooding. It is like moving to California you would do the same for earthquakes and forest fires.

Not having flood insurance. All of the other stuff mentioned by our esteemed R******s pales against that one stupid mistake.

    10. idk, I don’t have flood insurance cuz I live on top of a hill to the point where, If I’M flooded, we as a society have bigger issues to deal with than my insurance.

NOT having flood insurance while living in Florida tho? Wild.

    11. I mean, I wouldn’t, but I still feel sorry for these people. It would suck to lose your house even if you shouldn’t have bought it in the first place

    12. There’s always the moral hazard that the government will help people who ‘couldn’t get’ insurance, for whatever reason. So the risk calculations can be fun.

Not sleeping because they don’t want to drown or because they think there’s anything they can do now?

I live in Eastern Canada and it’s friggin cold in the winter and rainy in the summer. But I’ll take that then wondering if my house is gonna blow away every year just for some sun and golf courses.

    15. Spending more then half a million for a house in Florida without flood insurance? I hope the hole thing is 10 feet underwater tonight. Some people have to learn it the hard way.
