    1. In a dark parking garage, where it could be sketchy at night? Yes, this is a good thing. Been a thing for many years in Germany too.

Oh boy, another reddit thread about women-only parking spaces.

I wish there was some kind of way I could just straight up profit off selling weapons to both sides here.

It’s probably for women who are pregnant. A lot can get handicap placards in their third trimester, but it’s a state by state thing.

    4. I used to work for intel we had parking space for pregnant woman or how they called it “future intel”

    5. They have spots at my grocery store for pregnant or nursing women, that’s what I assume these are for.

Even if not, in high-crime areas this may be a good idea as it’s often women coming out of or entering their cars who are targeted.

Is this uncommon outside of North America? I’ve see tons of Expectant Mothers/Family spaces in Canada and the US?

I supposed this is normal (?) At one point this is common in a big Mall and shopping center in my country despite it is third world country

Often seen in Germany, where women can park close to the exit, so they’re safer from attacks.

    9. The eternal Reddit discussion on this topic:

      LOL, women parking spaces!

Yeah, they’re because women keep getting raped when going back to their cars.

      Oh.

    10. Pretty common where I live. Dedicated parking spaces for women, families with kids and even the elderly.

    11. They exist in Italy as well. Idea being, pregnant ladies. They also get priority seats like disabled people or elderly people on public transport and in public facilities.

    12. Makes sense since it’s probably closer to the building. Where I used to to work it was a nightly routine to walk women co-workers to their cars if they were leaving before the rest of us. Although that was more of a product of working in a shit neighborhood at night. I saw the other comments mention it could be for pergante women. Which seems reasonable.

I don’t think my fellow men and I understand what it’s like to feel physically threatened as frequently as many women do. For some, the baseline state is high alert. It must be exhausting.

I’m happy to walk a little farther in the parking lot.

    14. Yes because parking lots can be dangerous at night and minimizing the travel time back to the car is for their security.

I read the title first, I scroll down a little, first I thing I see is the spot handicapped, I chuckled

its for women that are pregnant or have infants. give them room to get out without needing a handicap placard. Bet you $20 bucks that just out of frame is the sign explaining exactly that. but OP chose to not show that, cause “rage karma.”

They have these all over Germany. Usually bigger spots and closer to entry/exit points

    18. Okay that is some of the worst handicapped parking I’ve seen though; you need to be able to have room on either side of the car for the handicapped individual to be able to get out, right?

    19. That means enough women have been attacked in that parking lot that they decided they needed to make a spot closer to the door in a bright lit area to try to lesson the amount of assaults
