They have spots at my grocery store for pregnant or nursing women, that’s what I assume these are for.
Even if not, in high-crime areas this may be a good idea as it’s often women coming out of or entering their cars who are targeted.

They exist in Italy as well. Idea being, pregnant ladies. They also get priority seats like disabled people or elderly people on public transport and in public facilities.

Makes sense since it’s probably closer to the building. Where I used to to work it was a nightly routine to walk women co-workers to their cars if they were leaving before the rest of us. Although that was more of a product of working in a shit neighborhood at night. I saw the other comments mention it could be for pergante women. Which seems reasonable.
