The virus didn’t even make the jump to humans until November-December 2019, so saying it was 5 years ago is entirely untrue. The PHEIC ended under a year and a half ago, although depending on where you live the pandemic wasn’t really doing much (lockdowns and mask mandates ended where I live in the US around early-mid 2022).
