There’s nothing special going on here, that is just marketing to make you think this paper box is better than other paper boxes. Pretty much all paper products are made of plant fibers and will compost if put into a compost. Cardboard boxes. Printer paper. Paper plates. Paper straws. Paper/cardboard takeout boxes.
It’s not like you can just throw this in a landfill or on the ground and expect it to be turned into dirt in 90 days. It has to be properly composted for it to happen that fast.

IIRC, these boxes aren’t actually paper. They are made from cultured mould, grown into shape, and then cooked to set them.

It needs to go to a specialised composting facility that reaches very high temperatures.Â
In a normal compost heap, it may take years or decades to break down.
It’s a scam. Better than conventional plastic. But not really by much.

I got one a year ago. I still use it as compost scraps bin before chucking said scraps to a larger bin

Ive had plants come in pots that said the same thing, so I chucked them into the garden. I still saw chunks of those pots years later.
