The United States Government already owns all of the land, in the entire country, with only very few exceptions. You don’t “own” land, the government lets you use it.
They do not need an excuse to take your land; it’s already theirs. It’s called “Eminent Domain”. They can just take it from you.
That’s nowhere close to what’s happening here tho.
