    1. Ten years later

Manager: We are struggling financially, so I’m afraid we have to let you go, or else the CEO won’t be able to buy his second ferrari.

    2. Literally just had this conversation with my supervisor. He’s new to the company and thought he was giving advice. I said I’ve watched everyone quit twice in under 3 years from (25 to 5) twice I’ll do it my way part timer.

All they will do is increase your workload without a salary increase since they saw how you can handle more work without any questions

During my year end reviews, I have had this conversation multiple times in a few companies.

HR: What have you done to go above and beyond expectations?

Me: I worked weekends and evenings to complete work within tight timelines, since we are known to be understaffed and I wanted to make sure we still succeed.

HR: We didn’t ask you to do that. You should be able to do your job within business hours. Have you considered your inefficiencies?

Me: We have a smaller team and more work than we did before. I thought I was stepping up and helping.

HR: We didn’t ask you to do that. It only counts as doing your job and doesn’t count as going above and beyond what you are asked to do.

*you have received the minimal raise possible due to not exceeding expectations*

*Complete work efficiently and on time has been marked as does not meet expectations*

      😐😑😐

      😢

Prove you are a good worker and you’ll never be moved from what you’re working on, you’ll be too valuable to production

Pretty sucky when you get called into a sales update to hear that we have record profits but we’re not hiring new people and nobody is getting a bonus

Depends on how much your boss likes people like these.. we got an employee who got promoted twice under two years since he spent so much time at work..
When he left they discovered he fucked up a lot of shit while his manager was impressed he spent so much time at work!!

“The horse worked harder than anyone else on the collective farm, but she never became the chairman!” quote from Soviet Union times.

    10. Work in a warehouse. My first year I did 10x the amount of work as everyone else there in hopes of getting recognized. All it got me was 3 foot/ankle injuries and chronic pain 🙃

    11. Man, I remember my time working at a Culver’s for 4 years. I’ve seen many come and go, I’ve seen how the atmosphere changed pre, during, and post Covid, I’ve trained many and became very flexible at the job. But the thing that made me quit that job was how I had so much experience and had what it takes to finally get a leadership position and my managers decided to give the position to someone who hasn’t even been working for a year, is known to have attitude problems, is very lazy at her job and not exactly good at personal hygiene, yet apparently she was a better pick then me. I tried not to be salty about it but as soon as my brother gave me an opportunity to get a job at a hospital, I took it and left the Culver’s job and haven’t regretted it since.

TL;DR: Despite being a hard and flexible worker, they ain’t gonna promote you and would rather promote an underqualified worker instead as you’re more profitable busting you ass working than giving managing a store.

    12. Me: Hey boss, I heard the company might cut costs by removing the extra air from the office. Manager: Don’t worry, breathing is only for those who can afford it. Time to start practicing my fish impersonation!

    13. Working Hard vs. Being Irreplacable are two different ballgames.

You can work hard and be taken advantage of, or you can work efficiently and not take shit from anyone.

The first 90 days this is my mentality. Then I got labor laws and three strikes protection. 🫡

His boss be like: “Why does this man take more time to do the same tasks as before, do I need to pay him overtime now? Nah, I bet I could hire someone who would be more efficient.”
