    1. Just curious if I’m unusual or does everyone use the last remnant of the old bar of soap and smash it into the next new bar soap to avoid wasting it? I don’t remember when or where I started doing it, but it’s always been that way. I did not know where to post this because there is no sub for “Very uninteresting”..lol.

    2. I’ve never hopped on Reddit and gotten _more_ bored. First time for everything, thanks OP!

    3. This is the equivalent of, those of us that use body wash, putting water in the bottle when it’s empty to get out the last bits of soap before tossing the bottle. And yes, I do it.

    4. I never knew to do this until my partner showed me 20yrs ago! Makes complete sense and there’s zero waste.

I find it satisfying to scratch both sides in all directions before adhering together with watered down soap as glue.

    5. My Dad likes to say that ever since getting married, he has been using the same cake of soap, because when you do this, it never runs out.

The real question is which brand melds the old with the new best. For me, it used to be Safeguard but then they changed the shape. Dial melds very well and is best now IMO. I bought a batch of Zest, and this is the worst soap I’ve tried to meld. I think they know this so you’ll throw the small piece away, thus selling more soap, but that’s Big Soap for ya.

    7. I have bags made of a hemp mesh that works to lather the soap and you can just throw the next bar when one is mostly used up. If you use bar soap I absolutely recommend it.

No. My SO hits me when I do it. Her BFF just shows it to me and gives me the look.

I do try to remember not to do that. (No I dont)

Luckily, I truly loved, inspite of stuff like that.
