      Fact: the reason this is working so well is because he is using this contraption on fir. Fir loves to split along the grain, other woods not so much

      It’s a splitting maul. It’s been around for at least 40 years. Reddit is fascinated by people doing actual labor (and not sitting on their ass online).

      Seems to be more usefull for small pieces of wood, dunno if it would work for bigger pieces or long planks of wood compared to using a normal circular saw machine..

      “Safe” seems a bit of an exaggeration. There are a lot of ways things can go wrong with that sort of setup.
