I hate how it’s easy and not difficult at all to be *openly* racist in 2024, we’ve come a long way and now it feels we set shit back because of how social media and especially Trump has been acting since 2016.

Yeah this is how White conservatives pushed a pro-segregation message to scare voters since Reconstruction began. I remember seeing Dixiecrat flyers showing a Black man and White woman with the “this could be your future son-in-law” message all but spelled out campaigning against integration.
Republicans these days are no different. They aren’t running on sound policies meant to improve the lives of EVERY American citizen. They want to scare White people into losing their de facto spot in the racial hierarchy. Same playbook, different players.
