    1. Biden and Harris have literally mobilized the largest humanitarian action undertaken in the United States ever, in record time. The idea that the government has done nothing in response to this is a narrative only being pushed by Republicans, as they largely block whatever they can to make it appear that the Biden administration isn’t doing anything.

It’s shockingly dishonest to try and stop your opponent from fixing a situation, and at the same time blaming them for the situation being broken over completely unrelated things that you, yourself had tried to push in the past.

Billions sent to Israel and even the Tennessee national guard sent to Israel. I don’t want billions sent to bomb children. I want it to fix infrastructure and the host of other social inequalities

They spread misinformation to try to get sway votes and unfortunately there’s more ignorant, face value lovers than not.

So a personal perspective on this. I used to live in Western NC near the Blue Ridge mountains. I still have connections to the area (both through my family and through colleagues I worked with in person and who I’ve continued to work with remotely after I moved to another state but kept working part time there). I get emails from that work place still and alerts and there are non-stop messages going out about how to apply for FEMA aid, which locations are operated as shelters by FEMA in the area, numbers to call if you need any kind of assistance etc. A lot of messages are also related to local and state relief groups too but to say that “nothing” is being done at the federal level to help people in this area out is complete BS. No one from my family or in the circles I have there has said anything of the sort.

I just remember the curious reaction by elected officials in Gulf Coast states after Hurricane Sandy. Those who would at least have constituents who experienced the remnants of storm damage, having sudden hesitancy over providing disaster relief because the afflicted area just happened to be metropolitan New York City/New Jersey. Taking what has been associated with conservatives- “only if it affects me”- on a different level.

There would be no “the” before the word money. Russian and related languages lack articles (“the” money, “a” dog).

      God Musk is a Douche.

North Carolina’s governor has repeatedly said he has spoken to President Biden, has everything that he needs for recovery and has the presidents direct line to call if he needs anything else.

Oh yeah, all the money we give for Ukraine defense goes to American defense industries. All of that money buys American munitions and the money stays here and goes into American companies. Only the bullets that we make and sell to Zelenskyy goes to Ukraine, not the money .

… and “X” and Elon are pretty much both in their 14th and a half minute of their 15 minutes of fame

The social media site formerly known as Twitters value has gone down 80%, from $45 billion down to $9 billion. That’s your new department of government efficiency head Elon Musk at work right there 🤣

The Russian bots are definitely active. However it is hard to tell the difference between a Russian Bot and a MAGAt’s posts. They are so similar.

    10. There was no Ukraine in need when Katrina struck but disaster and aftermath was quite the similar. What remains the same is a terrible evacuation protocol “You better evacuate. You cannot afford transport and have nowhere to go anyway? Well fuck you, good luck surviving”

Easy fix, just repeal all corporate/wealthy tax breaks. There’s money enough, there’s just a lack of will.

This sort of thing rolls for all sorts of occasions.

“How can you spend money on illegal immigrants when there are homeless veterans?”

“How can you spend money on Ukraine when there’s been a disaster here?”

“School shootings are a mental health problem!”

Those questions are posed by people who, regardless of how well or poorly things are going, will vote against helping veterans, stopping Russian aggression, and supporting mental health programs. The disaster just gives them an occasion to pretend to have moral high ground.

    13. Twitter is basically just a Russian disinformation company now led by Elon Traitor Musk.

    14. R/conservative straight up complaining while their own people vote against FEMA bills. It’s pathetic really, and they wonder why we are running out of empathy for them.
