What a horrible day to have sticky darts on your eyes. (Just like every day).

Fascinating. You can really see the tiny movements our eyes make, taking full advantage of our binocular vision. Very interesting video. Thank you!

This is called the vestibular ocular reflex (VOR) w/ saccades, normal for everyone. Without head movement it’s called nystagmus which can indicate a neuro pathology. Pretty interesting stuff for sure. Sticky things on eyes is no doubt pathologic lol

If anyone is curious, he is most likely wearing scleral lenses and these are the applicators to get them in and out.

I’m fucking scared of this. It would be my worst nightmare to have something stickin on my eyes.

What’s interesting is that when your eyes aren’t tracking a moving object (smooth pursuit), the brain fills in the gaps, making it seem like you haven’t missed anything. In reality, during saccades, your eyes don’t capture anything visual information, which prevents you from seeing motion blur or complete darkness.

I had those way back when I had hard contact lenses. I soon learned how to pop them out without the plungers. Those things were a nightmare.

Thanks, it is fascinating and educational. And, I hate it.

Yea, you’re in scanning mode so they’re pretty rough and just glancing at everything, then once you lock onto something they go smooth. Great hunting tactic for when you need to focus on something that may move or hide… Probably also really good for watching predators as you attempt to hide or run.
