Visited a coworker buddy’s house. Behold the raccoon that made off with his favorite Koi fish – he shot the raccoon for stealing but the fish was already done in. He had them both stuffed.

Man. That had to be an old old koi. I don’t know that I would have let the raccoon off this easy.

That’s it; Kill animals and turn them into trophies for following their instinct to eat.
You and I have different definitions of “funny.”

It’s honestly fucking gross 🤮
Is your friend so bad at fishing that one fish stolen by a raccoon just tossed him over the edge?? Or does he just have a bad temper? He can go to the store to buy fish if he wanted one that bad, the raccoon can’t.

Nothing funny about killing for sport. Animals don’t even do that.

All else aside, that raccoon was quite the unit. That koi wasn’t a lightweight. If the raccoon was actually “getting away” with it, I’d be impressed. I’d honestly expect it to do little better than drag it a few feet off to a safe corner to eat it. Much further and that’s a coon I’d not want to tussle with.

Does koi fish have any symbolic meaning in the western culture? I know that in some asian cultures, it means longevity and if it dies/ is killed, it means bad luck.

I’m in the koi pond trade, racoons are my arch nemesis, I see a racoon take off with one of mine, or my buddies clients fish pretty regularly.
