    1. France supporting the USA during its creation is the single best long term investment ever made.

And I say that as a French citizen. Thanks for saying our asses during WWII.(And helping during WWI as well)

    2. There is also the 1918 and 1944 difference.

In 1918, the American army was trained and equipped by the French army; it’s some thousands of equipment delivered to the American forces: planes, tanks, artillery, and small arms, just to name a few, not to mention high-end technological vehicles such as the Renault Ft. 1.

In 1942, the first unit to be rearmed by the Americans was the Lafayette squadron (manned by an American pilot during WW1) as a gesture of Franco-American friendship. In the end, it’s around 8 infantry divisions armed, 3 armored divisions, and thousands of vehicles, planes, tanks, and ships delivered to the Free French, enough to make France actively participate in the liberation of Europe.

    3. The US and France have been pretty chill with one another until DeGaulle and the whole pulling out of Nato in the 60s. Thankfully, that’s just one stain on an otherwise healthy national relationship
