Well, they didn’t exactly go after Marx‘ philosophy

Why is Ukraine saying “no”? They attempted to create a socialist state after breaking away from the Russian Empire.

Communists did try everywhere rlse but the more stable governemnts brutally suppressed them or reactionary groups took over (facists and the like) Russia just didn’t manage to do it successfully, though they certainly tried.
Also the Ukrainians did rise up but it was an Anarchist revolution rather than a Lenist one(but still ideologically closer to Marx than Lennin was) they were just betrayed during the civil war

Sure that was funny but it was even more hilarious when they switched to capitalism.
People misunderstand how the US got to where it’s at. We had a big reset and started over with the Great Depression. We initiated the capitalist mode with a big system of strong labor regulations and an insanely progressive tax system. It would have been impossible to become a billionaire if we never changed the tax rates. The wealth creation was much more shared and evenly distributed. Then one day we decided that we hate labor unions and lowered the tax rates allowing billionaires to exist.

I mean communism had variying popularity in all of those countries and Marx’ work was far more influencial then just promoting communist and socialist ideas.
