A true good show should have a good start that grabs the audience’s attention in the first few chapters.If people have to tell you “watch until x eps” for the show to get good, that’s just the author failing to create an interesting hook nor too bothered to come back and improve the start once their skills improved.

First of all, this is such a biased take.
Second of all, I’m caught up to very anime and manga here, and people who give up in 20 ep have good reason to not watch more than 12 episodes because these animes was made before anime was popular.
Third of all, these anime series was designed to be watched weekly for a while year in the olden days before people only prefer 12 episodes or less. This take is just you being intolerant of a common habit.

You hating on Stardust crusaders?!? That was when it got good!! Act one was… very dated but for 90s anime it’s fine, I guess. Part 2 was ok and really defined the hamon thing which happily for the most part became a gimmick later then part 3.. sweet baby Jesus part 3.
Stands✔️ epic super specific fights where smarts trumped brute force✔️…. Stands✔️ still ora ora ora!!ing them after said super specific situation where they used their stands AND clever work arounds to defeat the enemy✔️ WRYYYYY!✔️ did I mention stands? ✔️✔️✔️

HunterxHunter and Jojo don’t live up to the hype, but you can enjoy them if you don’t turn your brain off and enjoy, and if people think that Marineford is where OP gets good they just don’t like One piece,
