It’s not the New Right, it’s the Old White. The Old White is painfully aware they are becoming a minority and they know how they treat minorities, so they’re scared. They hate “woke” because it means being accepting of minorities and treating others as equal Americans.
Trump’s literal message is to go back to some unspecified time, but it’s clear he is talking of a time of white supremacy.
