Jesus Christ, do you use one every three days or something?
Flolania on
I counted 75 bottles. You use a bottle every 2 and a half days? A bottle that size has about 250 sprays for easy math side of things. That means you take 100 sprays every day? What are you doing?

Have you always suffered from sinus pain or allergies? Deviated septum or some sort of sinus irregularities? I’m guessing you tried one of those sinus cleaners like Navage or saline canister to flush sinuses?

Little fun fact; using so much nasal spray can lead to baldness, are you losing your hair?

Honestly I think this shit needs to be locked behind a prescription or at least behind the counter like pseudoephedrine. All the warnings in the world to only use for 3 days don’t matter when the bottle gives you almost 2 weeks, or more, of “proper” use.
Glad you’re trying to kick the dependence! I wish you the best of luck.

Wow. I’ve never heard about anyone being hooked on nasal sprays. xd
Hope u overcome that shit soon.

I used to be like you. But then I found a doctor who had Rhinitis and had worked on finding the best treatment for himself.
He has prescribed the same thing for me and it’s changed my life. It’s a small dose of:
Montelukast
Fexofenadine Hydrochloride
Fluticasone nasal spray
Ask your doctor and see what they say. I’ve had issues with my Rhinitis my whole life and this has been the only way I’ve been able to feel normal for any length of time.

Damn, that’s scary. I was super congested this past winter, and googled congestion spray and went over to CVS to get this exact one.
In the car after I bought it, I sprayed 3 times each nostril and a minute later I had instant relief and no congestion! I was like, hoky crap, that is amazing! It wore off like 8 hours later and I sprayed once in each side this time (I realized 3 was probably not needed) and it worked again! Got a great night sleep. But woke up congested. Sprayed again and again it worked super well.
That night I got congested again so I went to spray again, but read the label and it says not to use for 3 consecutive days. So I figured id slow down and only use it when I absolutely needed it. So I sprayed again and went to bed. I Woke up around 3 am with so much congestion I couldn’t sleep. I found my spray bottle and abd tried to do a little half spray and that seemed to do the trick enough to fall asleep. Around 9am I sprayed again so I could make it through the work day.
It wore off around 3pm and I had to shoot over to CVS to get soemthing. I found some saline spray and that barely did anything but I got through the day. When I was home I was thinking… I’m in like day 2 of 3, I shouldn’t use that spray again… But it worked SO WELL. It was so hard not to, but I used a nose strip that opens your airways a bit and took Sudafed and used the saline spray. It barely worked abs I was thinking about using the nasal spray again all night. Finally got to sleep, woke up and was able to kinda breathe. All day I wanted to use that spray but I held off and kept using saline and when I got so congested I couldn’t breathe, I did some squats which temporarily open my sinuses.
It was a hard few days after that but eventually got back to normal. The urge to use that damn spray when ever I was stuffed up again was so strong. I was mouth breathing and getting angry that I couldn’t get air in though my nose. I could see how easily addictive that stuff is. I can’t imagine trying to quit it after more then a week using it

I had nasal cauterization few months ago, no more sprays! Highly recommend
frequent nasal spray use causes your nose to clog up. you could try using it in only 1 side so the other side can open up again. then stop using entirely. that way you can at least have 1 nostril to breathe through

Hey op I have/had sinus spray addiction if you want to call it that… go to doc or pharmacist or one of those doctor apps.. and get over the counter spray with steroids, it made it easier for me to ween off the sprays as the don’t have the additives to want to go back to store bought stuff

DDDammnnn that’s intense, mine got bad during the pandemic, because like i didnt’ realize that you shouldn’t use it past a few days, I did the alternating nostril situation for a while and slowly ramped down. and just got hit by the histamine rebound for like a month afterward and just mouth breathed while my nose figured its life out.
I use saline for now, which is meh, but when its real bad, I’ll use a bit of peppermint essential oil in my hands and deep breathe.

I’ve had chronic allergic rhinitis for as long as I can remember. I was on the nasal spray train for a long time. And then about 4 months ago, out of nowhere, my chronic allergic rhinitis went away overnight. So weird. My nose works for the first time in my life.
Also, constant saline flushes do help! It takes a while to get the benefits, but it does help.

My dude, get saline nose sprays instead. I have rhinitis and it changed my life

yall need to stop. blowback is a thing. the reason you feel worse when you stop is because your overusing it. 2 sprays each nostril 12 hours apart is the most you should do in a day.
