Iunno sometimes when you tell the person close to you about your struggle they respond with artificial empathy and the moment you inform them that you don’t want them to feel bad that’s not why you are sharing the information they do a complete 180 and retract their empathy and start judging you… I stopped taking to her after that.

That being said, heavy baggage isn’t a free pass to be a dick.

“Maintain your state of grace” has just become my favourite saying 🙂

I find advice shared on Twitter is most applicable to the author. What Kalen here has written is something he should be saying to himself in the mirror.
Just saying, because often times what people write on Twitter seems so deeply insightful to them, but is relatively obvious to others.
Like Jordan B Peterson saying “clean your room” while his own room was a complete mess.

Sadly real empathy and understanding towards others is very very rare.
I am disabled and chronically ill. I am constantly in pain, fatigued and can barely walk outside for more than 5min. At 30 I needed to give up my dreams, career, hobbies to accept that I was never going to have a happy or painfree life.
I am open about my struggles to people who ask. Because I want to raise awareness about disabilities and chronic pain. I dont vent if they dont ask because frankly none cares.
Most of my friends and family dont care. They keep judging me for being fat (i was so fit before), for not having a pretty garden anymore (because i cant garden), not having a job and “being always on holidays “.
I hurts so much and I cannot understand it. Is it so fucking difficult to understand that a woman in constant pain and with the levels of energy of a 90yo perhaps should get some understanding for not being hot or having a pretty home?
