I mean wouldn’t it be a waste to go to a therapist if you don’t have any problem or something you want to talk to them about?

I’ve already tried multiple therapists and they all made me feel worse than before I met them. :/

It would be nice, I just can’t afford it. I tried a route to low cost/free therapy at one point years ago. I spent a few minutes with the actual therapist who asked me the same set of a few questions each time and then I sat there while she filled out a form. I would try to push on my actual problems, none of it was heard. The entire thing would last less than 20 minutes including time in the waiting room. They also took my blood pressure and stats every time which was about 5 minutes of it.

It was a completely pointless waste of everyone’s time. It was efficient at whatever it was trying to do. Actually helping people with their issues or problems wasn’t that thing though.

I’ve been in therapy for 3 years now, for periods of time twice a week; and I get it’s not for everybody but I genuinely think therapy should be accessible and affordable to everyone. It’s been a real life changer. ♥️

    5. That’s great! I will go ahead and see one as soon as I either have enough disposable income to afford their $150+ hourly rate or they actually get permanently covered by public health insurance. (In other words my poor ass is going to stay mentally broken 😊👍)

If they didn’t charge you damn near $100+/hr maybe more people would go.

Riddle me this, if financial issues are one of the things causing problems in my life, why the hell do therapists on their high horse think that I could afford to drop even more money?

Therapy is the benefit of the rich, much like any medical care.

“most therapists accept insurance” and most insurance only covers 5 visits before you have to pay out of pocket. Good luck having a breakthrough in 5 visits.

    7. Alternatively, my mom died and I couldn’t find a therapist (to save my life so to speak) to see me because they were all booked up with other clients. Losing my mom and getting regected by EIGHT different theapists had me write it off forever. Therapy is NOT always there when people need it. Unless you like zoom sessions with someone who just graduated from online school and thinks you start a journal but doesnt have any actual helpful advice or experience. Sometimes, people who boast about how they love their therapist and are never going to stop going bother me because it feels like those people are who made therapy unavailable to myself and others like me.

What, no, i simply lost all joy in the things I used to love, but I’m still able to function, i’m going to work and i’m cooking and cleaning and showering and stuff, so it’s clearly not therapy time yet. 🙃

    9. Seeing a therapist helped realize the relationship I was abusive and to get out of it.

It may have saved my life.

    10. Been in the down lately, tuition is so exp nsive i gotta work to pay up, but we are being sent on duty to get experience but the locations of hospitals are kinda far and with work ut is super hard to balance out things. I had tovstop this semester and already feeling depressed because I can’t talk to my parents about it. I have no one to fucking talk about it. I tell you this. With all due respect to therapist. Here in the Philippines, everything is expensive as fuck. I’d rather sulk in depression than pay that admission. Heck I’m already trying to make ends meet. It would be too much of a luxury to pay someone to listen. Im sorry but its an “it is what it is” type of situation

LOL, I answered a “Better Help” FAQ questionnaire. They turned me away. People say they want to help but they just want your

    12. I thought about seeing a therapist years ago while I was going through a divorce. It was a prerequisite to see a psychiatrist to evaluate the possibility of medication. The wait list was 6 months long. The moral of the story being if youre entertaining the idea of seeing a therapist, book your appointment now.
