Every time I get a “raise” it’s just enough to cover my insurance premiums increase. What’s the point?

And god forbid you have to see a specialist

It also wouldn’t you can still get private insurance in the UK.
That said you can expect it to become more quality focused as it has to be better than the state standard.

A lot of good things have no precedent in american history.

medicare only cover 80% of the bill and you still have co-pays. medicaid for all makes more sense.

Also, wait until you actually need it. Most people just have normal doctor stuff to do and the health insurance company pays out. But once you need serious help, and doctors start sending you for expensive tests or treatments, insurance companies do everything they can to avoid paying. I had two MRIs cancelled because apparently some guy who works for BCBS knows better than my surgeon. Your choices are either 1- pay out of pocket and go broke trying to get healthy (all while still paying those premiums) or 2- skip it altogether and hope you don’t get worse

Private insurance: because who doesn’t love paying more for less?

As the Supreme Court has made abundantly clear, precedent doesn’t mean shit.

I’m more afraid of my health insurance premiums than I am of ISIS, sharks, immigrants, carbon monoxide, and vaccines COMBINED.
Edit: I’d like to expand the list to include quicksand, spiders, ANTIFA, the bermuda triangle, tornadoes, and murder hornets.

The moment you realize private insurance doesn’t exist to help you with your medical expenses (it exists to transfer money from your pocket, to shareholders’ pockets), the whole thing will make more sense to you.
