Mum said no such thing as good ole days- maybe for her in WW2:

1959- Mum is 33; I’m 5. But before that WW2 was harsh times for her in her teens. And it made her tough. She died recently round 96; I’m 59. My childhood did not have war. My pinafore dress was wool and mum made it and her dress and probably knitted
my jumper. That was my school and every day dress in winter. These are better days due her in 59.
