Yeah, those ridiculous things came out in February and have been a thing ever since. I don’t mind paying $350 for some shoes, but not if they make me look like a clown.

Absurd things like these aren’t meant to be wearable and worth it. They’re made to push boundaries. Look at the artsy fashion shows from “high fashion” designers. None of that shit is functional or looks good, it’s about shifting norms.
Every now and then, a tech company will release an outlandish product with barely functional features. It may be useless and unusable or just unpopular at the time, but eventually it evolves into a household item. This is the same thing.
It’s a risky product they’re pushing out in hopes of either people making it trendy or publicity for the brand.

I was out shopping and saw a kid wearing these. I nearly asked him what the actual fuck. I’m still wondering.

It was a drop from the company misfits a few years ago. This is just a replica

The design is very much real, but these are very much fakes and probably horribly badly made. The real ones are actually decently put together, despite their cartoonish looks.

“Serious” product?
They’re made by [MSCHF](https://mschf.com). They’re a very tongue-in-cheek art house fashion company. Or at least the *original* were made by MSCHF. These are probably cheap replicas. The originals were apparently surprisingly well made. Just today I stumbled across [this video](https://youtu.be/FlBrSkttBws?si=K0rH5Y4UZVjCjp8M) where a dude cuts them in half to see how well made they are! Funny that I’ve seen these twice today now, and never before.
But yeah, the fact you found it funny and laughed is… kinda the point.

Was at the mall at a Nordstrom. Sales associate was wearing these. I almost asked him if he was a Super Mario fanboy.

The home star runners
Kanye, quit leaving your boots on the street. The kids are wearing them.
I’ve seen these around. They look like astroboy’s boots
It’s too bad they are expensive. Would make a hilarious gift or part of a Halloween costume
I worked with a guy who bought these. They’re ridiculous but kinda fun to wear… for a few minutes.
MSCHF even put out aCrocs version: https://mschf.com/shop/big-red-boot-croc/
That is for astroboy cosplay and I bet it or at least something like it has existed for decades.
It’s an actual product, sure, but can’t be called serious.
They look like hightops for clowns.
For if you have more money than sense.
Deadpool feets
I gotta find out where these are and buy some for my wife asap
