    1. Pretty brilliant on the soldiers part. Volunteer to go to war, then abandon ship the moment you’re out of N. Korea so you can hopefully find asylum and live free.

    2. If I were living in North Korea, I would volunteer for the Great Leader’s Army and push hard to be sent to the front lines.

… and then desert as quickly as possible. Seems like a really good way to get out, and armed with weaponry, too!

That is brilliant. Just oh yes great leader well go. No the whole family is just down to serve you. Gets weapons and freedom, runs. I wish them well on their dangerous journey.

    4. “Wait,do you are giving me a gun and sending me put if North Korea? No, of course I’ll come back “

Seriously if this news is accurate news would it surprise anyone, Ukrainians are fighting for there country, lives and there families. Everyone else is not.

    6. Ukraine big dick move: Offer North Koreans asylum if they fight for you instead of Russia.

    7. Create and advertise a clean pipeline to run from their chaos. Make defection a functional utility from Ukraine.

Give the deserters food, medicine and when rehabilitated give them a forum to talk with human rights groups.

Why are they in need of North Korean soldiers? I thought they had like a lot of reservists?

Is there a difference between defecting and deserting? Like what’s the point in deserting if you remain in RF?

    10. Conscripts, forced to go halfway around the world to fight a war for somebody else, what could possibly go wrong.

Can you honestly think of a better way to get out of North Korea? Free airfare to Ukraine then defect.

As long as they are in Ukraine controlled territory and not Russian, they should be fine. Russia will send them back to North Korea to shot.

    13. That headline is rather misleading, considering it’s only 18 out of the 10,000 who have deserted.

    14. Considering they likely eat better as a Ukrainian POW than they ever did in NK, I imagine quite a few tried to defect.
