The author of this book from 1988 pretty much predicts smartphones perfectly

    1. They had pocket organizers by 1991 and the Apple Newton did most of that a couple of years later.

This is not surprising. Many of the inventions we have now are because experts and people saw where technology was headed and what it would become or what they wanted it to be.

Technology companies have been making and developing it bit by bit accordingly.

What is interesting is that the author of this book is actually a specialist in this type of technology and was actually an employee at Apple and may have participated in the development and manufacture of the iPhone and is still alive to see and try it.

    3. “Oh…and it should also be a continuous source of anxiety that is carefully engineered so that, even once I realize it causes me so much anxiety, I am unwilling to turn it off.”

    4. Really liked that book. The guy is living and breathing design. Anyone within UX-design should give it a read.

    5. Not really “predict”, but more like the development of the future smartphone was based on expectations created by influential people like I suppose this author is.

He acknowledges that, in the end, we were already moving towards that objective.
