One of the most insane German things I learned about during WWI was the fact that the Germans looked at the rules and realized that if they simply removed the lids from poison gas barrels and simply allowed the wind to carry the gas it didn’t count in the rules that only talked about deploying munitions.
And as someone that lives in the Netherlands I read that and was like “that is the most German thing ever.”
