It’s a common principle that if you make an invention, the employer owns it. Tetris would be owned by whatever IT/game company the inventor works in.

Eugene stoner, the inventor of the AR10, which could be considered the American ak47 was not incredibly rich. In the end he was just an engineer, the big moneys were made by the managers at Colt and armalite.
