I went through this with FFXI. Used to set alarms for NMs and HNMs and wake up any time to camp them.
I got a peacock charm from doing this with Argus, spent 6 days round the clock camping it. Got the claim and the drop on my first kill. I even held the claim and messaged every thief over level 45 on the server by doing /sea all thf and offered each of them 200k for joining my party to grant me TH2.
It took about 20 mins of standing there being auto attacked by argus but I got someone to join, who ran over and shot Argus with a crossbow across a pond so she didn’t have to run all the way to me since it required a difficult path. I wanted the thf with TH2 to be the last hit because there was a rumor that for TH2 to take effect it had to be the last hit. So she shot it across the pond a few times and sure enough, it dropped.
