So, how does this actually work in countries with hyperinflation? Like sure, things cost a lot more in the local currency, but what about salaries? Do they also follow the hyperinflation? Because if not, then it doesn’t really matter for how much they want to sell something, people won’t be able to afford it.

I’m going to Buenos Aires soon on vacation and was really confused when looking at restaurant menus on Google maps that people would post.
A few month old menu would have chorizo for like $0.60 which seemed way to cheap. When I changed the date for the exchange rate to when the menu was posted it would go to about $3…so the menus are showing approximately the same prices. The government just fucked with the exchange rate to help with inflation. It’s actually better now than it was last year.
