    1. Employing these people are barely more profitable than full scale automation. Their condition is not sustainable.

    2. I used to order some cheap electronic parts from Aliexpress but 8 out of 10 packages are always crushed or badly damaged. In China, it’s all about quantity. The new Temu is probably worse but I would never buy from them.

I am actually amazed how it is possible to ship small items from China to my country (Ph) for only P40 (less than a dollar).

    4. So much useless menial shit that’s just going to go straight to a landfill after a single use, causing so much human suffering and environmental destruction. I fucking hate the human race.

    5. Price wars making competition that is driving down wages. Sounds like good ol capitalism.

Yet none of these people seem as miserable as the woman who works at my local post office in Canada.

    7. Government doesn’t protect worker rights

Business doesn’t care if they are alive

Automating it is possible, but Chinese child labour is cheaper than a scanner due to above.

And I have to be sorry for ordering a keychain? Seriously?

I worked somewhere in courier service industry. But as admin. There is one big company from china had biggest shareholder to our company. Sadly the management seems to yes to anything they demand.

We doesnt work overtime so much like this, but the amount of worker has been reduce and the worklod increase and they wanted us to more multitask and if can reduce usage of money to our company as less as they can. So sad. If someone got resign, there is none to replace. The management decide that paying for any claim(damage, overdue, or anything) is much less than pay salary. This happen within a year and so many changes. Bad changes.

    9. I assume it’s not as bad in Amazon warehouses, but stuff like this is why I avoid ordering stuff on Black Friday and Prime day unless the item I want is on sale or I need it now. Like, it costs me nothing to wait a few days.

    10. Obvious AI voice spewing CCP talking points that they mistakenly think, paint a good picture! They’re wrong!

    11. Brutal. But the line “sometimes, even managers have to step in” had me laughing. The true measure of precarity: when your boss needs to work.

Inefficient as fuck would be a better way to title this

I’ve worked at one of this companies in the Netherlands and a ton of those jobs you see these people doing is being done by robot more efficiently and more accurately

    13. I feel like this belongs in r/orphancrushingmachine if it hasn’t already been put there.

Can we get the video that hasn’t been sped up? I imagine they’re working about as fast and your average amazon worker. You don’t have to go to China to see this. Just go to an amazon warehouse. Its basically the same thing.

If humans make it that far, history will look back on this stage of capitalism as another form of serfdom

It 2024, we have the technology and resources for everyone to be sitting on a beach, eating fruit all day. But instead we have this.

    16. If this is a “normal day”, imagine what it is during Christmas season or Chinese New Year.

I am from Eastern Europe and never bought anything from AliExpress basically only because of the moral reasons.

Do Americans really have to consume so much?
