I’m pretty sure this a commissioned piece. “The last moments of Artax.” Atreyu’s beloved horse.

No reason? To be human is to create. The most common motif in all creation myths is the idea that the Creator God used arts and crafts familiar to humans to create the world. The Bible uses dust and clay. As did the Hopi, the Maori, and the Egyptians. The Bantu Creator God created animals by carving pieces of tree bark and putting them in the river of life.
We can’t help but create, and in doing so we put ourselves on par with God.

Hopefully it’s not supposed to be a race horse. Cause then it’d be quick sand.

That seems to be a very urban, and therefore very random, place for sand to accumulate.
