My town installed several dozen bollards all over a few years ago. Each custom made by a local ironworks. Very nice. Â Each has a heavy frame, and is kinds of like an I-beam in shape.Â
But they installed them all so that their weak axis was facing the car, and now all are bent.Â

This reminded me of my local post office – twice now, a senior citizen has driven through the building instead of backing up, so they’ve now installed concrete bollards that are as tall and wide as trash bins all in front of the building.
