The Tulip Stairs, c. 1629, are one of the original features of the Queen’s House in London. This ornate, wrought iron structure was the first geometric self-supporting spiral stair in Britain. It is described as showing tulips but they are probably lilies, the royal flower of France [1920×1279] [OC]
