My parents took me & my siblings to the French Quarter for Mardi Gras, until all the sudden we started staying Uptown. Evidently one of us saw something and was old enough to comment or question lol

My parents took us to New Orleans (not during Mardi Gras) in 1974. I saw my first bare boobs and we saw the same cross dresser enough times that we called him the he/she- don’t judge, I was 7 and the times were different.

I am not from a small midwestern town and I also had never seen most of those things! Until now, of course

Went a couple of times in the 80’s. It was a tremendous freak show then as well. Good times, good times.
Prefer the Jazz and Heritage Festival in my old age. 🤣
