Osprey aren’t actually hawks despite being sometimes called “seahawks”. Pandionidae is its own distinct family.

    2. Nice job. At one point the hawk seemed to be relaxed and had a look like he was expecting a full manicure

      Good work!

Now, can we find the person who dumped the line in the landscape and use it to tie them by their thumbs to a tree so they can consider their actions?

    4. This hawk had to already be incredibly exhausted to even let the man do most of this without a lot of fighting. Even then it kept trying to pull away whenever he was trying to reach near the hawk’s head. At some point the hawk was probably aware that it was not in danger, but was still on very high alert.

The fisher probably didn’t catch anything and was determined to at least kill something with that fishing line.

The dude was literally shaking helping that bird and i can’t say i wouldn’t be the same. Hawks can mess you up

    7. That’s a very well loved pocket knife. Now it’s been used to save a life. Hope dude holds onto it, might just get him out of a bind someday.

    8. I yelled at some kids in my neighborhood a couple mo the back because they kept tying line to the fence and leaving it. They would cut line and just leave it in the grass next to our little man-made lake in our neighborhood. Hooks still attached and all.

      I almost called FWC.

So much better than the racist video I just saw before this while scrolling through…nice you had a sharp knife with you…you win my Sunday!

    10. I always imagine raptors opening someone up with their beak once within rage but then I see these videos and they are always cool and laid back during rescues as if they’re saying “good lookin’ out bro”

The guy’s hands shook like crazy, but he kept at it and didn’t worry about getting close to harms way… Wonderful and a privilege to watch!

    12. I hope this turns into one of those videos where in a few years this man now has a hawk best friend that is always flying over head
