The very first time I was around for this sound was in 1995 and my brother was going to show me this new thing called the internet.
He started the process and it made all these crazy sounds as it’s supposed to and then he immediately said, “We didn’t get on.”
He had listened to the indecipherable babble of hisses, buzzes, and pops and could tell.
I was amazed. I thought he was The Internet Whisperer.
