A giant ball of barbecue skewers.

Since they are all collected in one bin, makes me think they are being reused to fuel the smoker/grill. Bamboo burns fairly clean and when soaked and packed tightly make a mild white smoke. The fire would kill any bacteria.

At my house I throw any cedar planks from salmon and used bamboo skewers in the wood bin with the apple, pear and plum wood from pruning our trees to be reused in the smoker. We are not picky, i like everything but oak smoke (my uncle used green oak one thanksgiving and the tanins made us all super sick)

I just hope they are not “washed” and reused as the next day’s kabobs.

Then an assassin mistakes it for a hay bale.

i wonder if this was from candy dipped fruit in skewers cause i don’t see any burn marks. just white small blobs of gum? or is this a new form of art or something?
