We had one less than a mile from our house – good times

Looks like an A&W Restaurant knock off. I loved those root beer floats in frosty mugs. I can’t eat them any more without gaining weight.
A&W Restaurants is the oldest restaurant chain in the U.S. that still exists, although there aren’t nearly as many as there used to be. In the 1970s, A&W had more stores than McDonald’s, with a peak in 1974 of 2,400 units. Now there are fewer than 500 in the U.S., and most of those no longer offer drive-in curbside service.

Second car from the left is a ’63 Mercury Monterey with the roll-down rear glass.
