    1. Topic has been discussed so much I’m sick of it, people say he’s a monster, others cite he knew of the famine and tried his best to stop it during the war, even asking the Americans to help, they denied his request leading to no food as it was needed for the war effort, some cite he said it was their fault for “breeding like rabbits” while others said he was sympathetic for the Indian plight,

History is never black and white, there is always arguments countering each other, just like any other history figure, none were pure good or evil, let’s just stop using on sided arguments to make them look like good or bad people.

      *sorts by controversial*

*finds nothing because this topic comes up literally every day and everyone is bored as shit with it*

    3. Churchill and his naval office counterparts in Germany also did a great job of messing up Naval limitation talks pre-ww1 so their budget wouldn’t get slashed too. He was great for war but not helpful in peacetime.

    4. Old habits die slowly, exporting food from famished nations is a good old british tradition, see e.g. the irish famine.

Churchill also wanted to use mustard gas against the Iraqis in 1920… but it wasn’t technically feasible.

    6. i love how everyone here makes fun of tankies for denying soviet crimes against humanity but defends britain when they are doing the exact same thing lmao

    7. Famines happen in war time. That’s just a side effect of war. Wasn’t his fault a war happened. I’d sat the ends justify the means here.
