The Poles were not dropped into Warsaw because it was an obvious suicide mission. They would have been massacred. Of course they requested to and of course they were denied.

Off the top of my head, I’d guess they didn’t bring the French along because they wanted to maintain the cover story that they were planning in invading Greece. Moving a bunch of French troops from Italy to England would have maybe implied an invasion of France instead.
