      I’ll give context to the most famous example, operation mincemeat.

      Ian flaming wrote in a book of him a story about using a dead body mascaraing as an air force pilot to give false intelligence to the enemy. In 1944, The British took the dead body of a homeless person, put him in an air force uniform and a note about invading Nazi germany via I think Denmark.

      The body was thrown off a submarine near the Spanish coast and the Spanish leadership gave the letter to the Nazi leadership. That made the Nazis oblivious to the attack on Sisley

      That real life operation was inspiration for Flaming to write the book “Casino Royal” and creating the character of James Bond
