    1. God: **Thou shalt not make any graven image or any likeness of any thing in heaven above!**

      Muslims: Got it.

      Christians: Lol.

    2. Jesus is a god tho not ONLY a prophet , but we still can depict prophets like Eliasz (I have no idea how to write that name in English)

Isn’t it because they don’t want people to worship Muhammad (or anyone else but god) and that’s why you can’t draw them, but Jesus is god so worshipping him is kind of the whole point

    4. If he rips his arms of the cross then he’s just gonna flop forward cause he’s still connected by his feet.

Except there’s a whole ass issue about this very sort thing OP. Read up on iconoclast heresy.

One of the many small factors that lead to the schism.

    6. Fun theory: for christians this image is pretty not ok, as Jesus not only didn’t do this, but also tought us to learn to bear our crosses like he did, not break them.

On the other hand in Islam, Jesus doesn’t die in the cross, instead he just leaves and goes to heaven. So this is maybe a lore accurate depiction of muslim Jesus, not christian one.

    7. Cut to somebody grandma who have a pillow with a picture of obi wan kenobi from ep 2 thinking he’s was Jesus christ

    8. There are actually quite a few Christian sects that don’t allow depictions of Jesus either

Also for Islam it’s not just Muhammad, but any prophet that’s not allowed to be depicted.

Muslims are not idolaters and we refuse to create icons which can me misconstrued as graven images and false gods. Prophets have been deified in the past. We seek not to go down that route.

    10. To be fair

Jesus is a carpenter and carpenters are occasionally ripped as fuck

      So this is biblically accurate

The earliest images of Jesus don’t depict him with a cross or a beard. Instead he looks like an off-brand Apollo, performing miracles and giving inspiration.

The Islamic rendition of the graven image law is extreme, but I can also see why they thought that images of Allah and the prophets could be infiltrated by pagan gods and idol-worship.

    12. I grew op in a protestant church in The Netherlands and pictures of Jezus or whatever visual depiction of God was very much not okay.
